Offshore Security - Completed
Goal
In the autumn of 2007 a new development project - "Offshore Security" - was started by Offshore Center Danmark.
The background for this project is serious.
Attacks on offshore installations must be prevented. In April 2005 a suicide attack was accomplished on a British oil tanker in the Gulf of Arabia, and Saudi Arabia has allocated 5 billion dollars to a terror security program for the Gulf containing military forces.
The goal for the development project "Offshore Security" is to uncover possibilities and limits for securing offshore installations and transport systems.
The project includes the total offshore supply chain: from land over the sea or the air to floating or fixed offshore installations and back again.
The project is supported by the Danish Ministry of Science by 1 mio. DKK, and the project period is August 2007 until July 2009.
