Goal

22 September 2009 Growth Forum in the Region of Southern Denmark recommended the project to be supported from  European Regional Development Fund and the regional funds for commercial development.

The aim of the project is to contribute to further develop the offshore sector and thus create renewed employment growth. Today the industry employs approx. 13,000 people in Denmark and the growth goals that the project is applying for funds, is 20,000 employees by 2020.

Description

The project is divided into five sub-projects. Development and progress in the sub-projects is coordinated in an overall project. Thereby we ensure coherence between the sup-projects through the entire project process. Offshore Center Danmark is the recipient of all undertakings on behalf of the entire project that has a total budget of approx. 36 million DKK.

5 sub-projects:

Offshore Supply: The sub-project has its focus at development of small and medium-sized companies within offshore oil and gas. Efforts will be put into reducing company barriers in proportion to delivering to the industry. Development of templates, networks etc. in proportion to certification, quality, laws, contract conditions, management and strategies etc. The sup-project has a budget of 7,6 million DKK and is managed by UdviklingVejen

Substitution of materials: This sub-project has its focus at substitution of materials offshore. A screening report has shown that a series of polymeric materials may substitute traditinal materials with advantage. Polymeric materials are lighter, do not corrode and may thus result in cost savings in the region of ½ mia. DKK. The sup-project has a budget of 5,3 million DKK and is managed by Plast Centre Denmark.

Coordination of offshore educations: The sub-project concentrates at organizing an education evironment in the area that may support the companies. Based on the needs of the companies a collaboration across educational institutions is established. Advisory board, internationalization of educations and 1 entrace to the educations are specific steps that are worked with. The sub-project has a budget of 4,5 million DKK and is managed by AMU Vest.

Recruitment and marketing: The sub-project focuses at recruitment of member of staff of the future for the offshore industry. Education teams, focus at municipal primary and lower secondary schools and the upper secondary educations, virtual learning etc. are some of the focus. The sub-project has a budget of 4,9 million DKK and is managed by Aalborg Universitet Esbjerg.

The offshore wind industy - research: The sub-project has its focus on development of the offshore wind industry. Documentation of macro financial conditions, possibilities and barriers in correlation with knowledge transfer in and between clusters, analysis of value chain etc. Furthermore the project also include employment of a PhD student and establishment of a working group from the industry that secures its relevance. The sub-project has a budget of 8,9 million DKK and is managed by University of Southern Denmark-SDO.
